Attention Whistleblower Supporters: NPR’s On The Media, which hosts a Saturday radio program, has teamed up with GAP to launch a campaign identifying the anonymous Senator that blocked passage of the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act during the final hours of the 111th Congress. There is a webpage dedicated to identifying the anonymous holder; constituents contact their Senate offices, ask if their Senator put a hold on S. 372, and email their Senators’ responses to On The Media, which then tracks it on a public spreadsheet. On the Media is expected to do a follow up segment tracking the public’s feedback. However, the Senate and On the Media need to hear from our community - the whistleblowers and advocates that have worked tirelessly to strengthen federal whistleblower protections. Please consider visiting http://www.wnyc.org/blowthewhistle/ to contact your Senators. It is important to keep this bill on Congress’ radar, regardless of whether or not your Senator is responsible for the hold. Further, please comment on why this matters to you, under the comment section below the spreadsheet. Help get the word out through social media, and follow the MISC Tweet at http://bit.ly/gFs1Qu. Thank you for your support |
